The Eclipse Chain,
Class Number: 3106
Class Start Date: Sunday, May 3, 2009, 9-12
Type: 3-Hour
Instructor: Lisa Claxton
Level: Intermediate
Seats Remaining: 0
Technique: Wire and Metal

Description: Designed for students who have had already been introduced to fusing with fine silver, this chain design is sure to leave those who gaze upon it lost in wonder. The inner rings seem to float freely over one another while the individual texture of each ring catches the eye. Students will review the basics of fusing, fuse a multi-layered chain and add texture to the wire itself.

Prerequisite: Previous experience fusing fine silver wire rings.

Materials Included in Required Kit: Fine silver wire and texture plates to complete one bracelet.

Students must bring these REQUIRED MATERIALS to class: Micro-butane torch with fuel, honeycomb soldering board, 8mm & 12mm mandrels (knitting needles and markers work as mandrels), a glass/metal quench cup or bowl, Flush wire cutters, chain nose pliers, steel bench block with pad, heavy-duty household hammer, chasing hammer. Optional: nylon-jaw wire straightener.

You can find supplies online through dealers listed Beading Daily Directory.

Class Fee (includes kit): $120
